Never one to miss an opportunity, a free trip to New York provided an excellent opportunity to acquire some extra goodies without all the hassle of shipping !
The added benefit of an ex-colleague living on Long Island, working in Manhattan AND willing to be a go-between was a welcome gesture. So our joint thanks to Fred.
Though I had a drama of losing the contact details between here & Manhattan, our neighbour did wonders in retrieving the info from my laptop, which thus provided the chance to experience the delights of Harlem en-route to collect our boxes of treats.
The goodies in question were a set of Acerbis Hand guards for “moi”, a pair of Front fork-braces (one each) from SJ-BMW and heated jacket liner and gloves from Warm’nSafe (a set each). The latter are the original article and much better reviews than others (See links). I’m sure once we wire them up we can give some real feedback.
The fork brace seems much sturdier than the existing bit of tin that sits in there.
The hand guards are not quite fitted, due to the unfortunate state of having static mirrors. Those readers not au-fait with bike mirrors – there are two types: those that are always loose and swivel upon their stem as soon as one exceeds 20 mph, or those that are unmovable, even when one wants to remove them ! Pictures of accessories will hopefully grace the site shortly.
