Stopping power!
For as long as I can remember, my bikes have had good brakes…. until now!
I suppose that “they” thought that as this was designed as an off-road bike, sort of, it did not need a really good front brake. Wrong!
What’s wrong with the front brake?
Well, for starters, there is only one disc/caliper. The disc or rotor is a stainless finish which is only “OK” in the dry and complete pants in the wet.
The calliper is only a twin piston affair. Even though it is a Brembo, it’s not upto the job. I seem to remember my old Guzzi Le Mans had the same calliper, but two of them on bigger rotors and the bike was somewhat lighter/smaller.
Time for an upgrade.

There are a few options on the market and I went for the HE calliper/disc as supplied by Motoren-Israel in Germany.
The disc is a 320mm jobbie and the caliper is a 4 pot.
The caliper is mounted on a new bracket that is supplied and the front wheel gets a spacer for the rotor to keep it all in line.
I think it looks really nice and will be the “biz”. Can’t try it yet as the bike’s still in bits for wiring up the heated clothing/GPS/power sockets and numerous other bits and bobs.
Mick’s bike came fitted with a 320mm rotor and a four potter.
