On to Sirsa

Day 62 – 384 kms (14909 kms total)

Thursday started on the wrong note by discovering one of Mick’s spark plugs was snapped, probably by somebody climbing up on
the engine for a photo opportunity!

We fit new plugs and set off with our tuk-tuk driver who is escorting us to the road to Jiapur for a small fee.

Its another hot day, but we make good distance. As we crossed the Punjab/Haryana provincial border, we are pulled over at a police checkpoint. We think its the usual passport checks in the area as its close to the Pakistan border, but no. Just a chat and an invite to sit and rest and have a glass of water while they make Chai, (tea).
Camel & baggage...
Only John drinks the water. That will be the anti-Dehli-Belly pills tonight then!

We book into the RC Hotel and eat in the “Family Restaurant” downstairs. Its a pure veggie establishment so there is no beer available. The owner offers to serve us beer in our rooms after the meal. Total for the two meals including mineral water, two coffee’s and four fruit juices was 375 Rupees

The next instalment is here
