Suddenly everyone wants to go to China !

After reading numerous travel blogs of folk riding through China, with various conflicting info. I figured it prudent to ask the folks who should know – the Chinese Embassy (London). Knowing they were only open for three hours, I tried to get there as early as possible, but even parking a bike in London is hard these days. I finally hit the queue at 9.30 when it was about 30 yards long. Although it shuffled forward, I noticed nearly no-one was actually going I through the door. After 55 mins I hadn’t gone far, then I calculated the rate of door entry was about 1 person per 10 mins. After 90 mins, it was apparent I wasn’t going to make it, so decided I would try & call & confirm I wouldn’t be wasting my time in the wrong queue. The phone lines are open two hours a day and permanently engaged. After hours is a phone-menu that eventually tells you they are closed!
Think I’ll try a fax !
