Kashgar
Day 41 – Zero kms.

We are waiting in Kashgar and have uploaded some more photos to the Trip Gallery and to the recent blog Entries. We also moved hotels. We are now in the Semen Hotel. No sniggering pleeeeaze.
This hotel is the old Russian Mission and the older rooms and the foyer are very ornate. Very nice.

We called Abdul, a guide that we met in Korgos, for help with our exit. He cant help us without the import docs and of course the other wankers wont release them!
The Agency is still trying to get us to pay them more money. Now standing at $1500, before they will release the customs document that we need to leave the country.
It seems as that the person we sent our fees to, has not paid everything to the Agency, but he still wants to charge us this ludicrous fee for the guide who took us to Urumqi, (which we already paid), and another to take us 200 km down the road to the border town.
We have contacted the British Embassy to see if they can assist. They don’t sound too hopeful, but there is apparently a body that governs all travel agencies, who may also be able to bring some pressure to bear.
We again make plans to leave bright and early.
Don’t change your socks and they may be glad to let you through! Hope to see you on the move asap!
