Stainless Goodies

I fitted more bits to the bike this weekend in the shape of stainless steel foot pegs and battery box.

The battery carrier has several benefits. The battery is now mounted across the frame instead of fore and aft. The advertising blurb says this is better for weight distribution! Like it will make any difference on a bike this weight.

It makes it cleaner and as it is about half the size, it creates quite a void that I intend making a bigger tool tray for, using glass fibre.
I will also need a new battery! On the down side, I have to make a new mounting for the main fuse box. For orientation – at the bottom of the picture is the front of the rear mudguard.

The Standard foot pegs are a bit on the small side. We will be doing lots of distance standing on the foot pegs so in this case, something bigger, is better.

These pegs are longer, wider and adjustable for hight. I have set them in the lowest position and they can be raised by about 25mm. It also moves it backwards a tad. Very fiddly to do though as there are three small nuts and bolts to remove/replace. So, unless they are really uncomfortable or awkward, they will stay like that.
Foot pegs and battery box are buy Boxer Toko in Holland. Link is on the links page.
